List of materials
- Make sure you listed all the materials you have used during your stay
- Fill in the list for packing and transport
Moulds
- Transport home or dump in the container outside
Kiln
- Kiln shelves must be clean, kiln empty
Transport
- You need to remove all works at the end of the work period. You are responsible for the transport of your work and organizing this transport and transport documents. If you need more information about transporting work, please contact Ingrid at the office. Ingrid can also give you an estimate of the costs.
- Special note for USA transports: Participants need to contact an American agent who will make a so-called ISF formulary. For this you will need to give them a copy of your passport, your authorisation for clearing the goods, a SCAC number and a BL (bill of loading) number. These last two numbers you get from our transporter. Before the ship leaves the port (Rotterdam or Antwerp) the ISF formulary has to be sent to our transporter. So it is very important that you communicate quickly with the EKWC staff and the transporters. It is better to choose a later departure of the ship, so you will be able to get the paperwork done in time.
Evaluation
- Please provide us with a technical report of your residency (no longer than 1 or 2 A4).
- Before you leave you are invited to give a short endtroduction to the other participants and staff. This is very informal, in your studio or kiln hall. What have you learned? Did you discover any new techniques? What can the other (new) participants learn from your experience? These presentations are at 10 am.
- At the end of your work period we like to discuss your experience of the residency with you. We would like to learn and we are always open to improvements. One of the staff members will take the initiative to have a short talk. If you leave please don’t give us presents. Just tell everyone about your experience and send us pictures of your stay.
Presentation
- When presenting your work, please remember to mention “realized at EKWC” – as agreed in our contract.
- Please send us some photos of your work(process) for our archives and to share on our website.
It might be hard to leave. Sometimes staff members are not in on the day you leave (usually at Wednesday). We do regret that; although we hate to say goodbye.
